Scope of application

Low-carbon steel and high-strength steel, straight seam welding of various types of steel pipes such as round pipes, rectangular pipes and special-shaped pipes.


Second, the technical characteristics

1. Energy consumption. Because contact welding can directly transfer electric energy, the loss of electromagnetic transmission energy during induction welding is reduced, so the energy consumption of contact welding is low, the productivity is high, and it is beneficial to energy saving.

2. Welding speed. Contact welding can increase the welding speed and increase the output per unit time. Under the condition of the same high frequency output power, the welding speed of induction welding is only 3/4 to 2/3 of that of contact welding.

3. Roller distance. The contact welding electrode leg can be closer to the squeeze roller than the induction welding electrode leg, so the heating time is short, the heat affected zone is small, and the ineffective shunting is small.

4. The contact welding method is less affected by the outer diameter of the steel pipe.

5. The lifting and pressing of the contact welding electrode leg is more convenient, so it is more suitable for discontinuous production (ie, no looper and shearing butt welding machine).

6. The contact welding is above the welding seam without any obstacles, which is convenient for the operator to observe the heating state.

7. Contact welding relies on the contact parts to transmit energy in a sliding state, and there will be a problem of wear.

8. The contact pressure between the contact parts and the surface of the tube blank should be moderate in size and consistent in both poles. When the contact pressure is small, the conductive effect is not good; if the contact pressure is too high, the wear is increased, and even the thin-walled pipe is deformed and the surface of the pipe is damaged. Inconsistent pressure between the two poles will not only cause uneven heating, but also sometimes cause lap welding and corrugated welding, which cannot guarantee the welding quality.

9. Contact welding has higher requirements on the surface quality of the tube blank than induction welding, and uneven surface, rust and dirt will hinder the normal passage of current. When welding coated materials (aluminized or galvanized), the contact parts will adhere to the coating and require frequent cleaning.

10. The production of contact welding requires operating experience, but no matter how it is adjusted, there will always be pits or spark marks left by electrode sparks on both sides of the weld, which affects the surface quality of the welded pipe.


Equipment configuration

Solid-state high-frequency welding machine is required for straight seam contact welding of steel pipes. The complete set of equipment must select switch rectifier cabinet and inverter output cabinet (split machine or integrated machine), optional circulating soft water cooling system, operation table and adjustment bracket.

The solid-state high-frequency welding machine is designed according to the continuous working system. The PLC programmable control system realizes the comprehensive chain control and fault diagnosis functions of the equipment, and monitors the operation status of the equipment through the liquid crystal display.
